I have a friend who received a 50% off discount toward a pair of binoculars from Bushnell. He said he has no use for it and wanted to know if I could use it. I might have an interest in a lower power/travel binoc but have never owned such a pair. My experience has been, the low power and low objectives don't have nearly as much brightness as I am accustomed to but that may be due to cheap models.
Anyway, is there anything in the bushnell line that you think is worthy in the lower power/ lighter design? If not, then perhaps the 10x42 legends Ultra or Elite is my only choice though I don't really need a pair with my 8x42s coming.
thoughts?
Read the current and old posts about the Elite (Custom) 7x26 (or B&L Custom). The new (Elite) coatings do make a big difference. When it comes to the 10x Legend Ultras, try before you buy. The 10x42 I tried had an extreme pin cushion which I didn't like and I've read a similar comment on the 10x36. The 8x comment seems favourable. I've not tried the others, though if the bigger Elites share the same coating as the little ones then I would be keen to have a look.
