I know there are some fans of 6x magnification out there. My eldest brother showed me his old bins recently, they're Japanese-made, 6x30, remarkably sharp and bright but with very narrow FOV for the mag. Bought in 1964 for four pounds, bearing the name "Luna" and the serial number 190007. I just wondered if any antique bino-buffs have ever seen a pair. (They were the first bins I ever birded with as a kid, but I hadn't seen them since about 1973 until he showed me them recently!)
...remarkably sharp and bright but with very narrow FOV for the mag...
I wouldn't have said 7.5° was narrow, Sancho. They probably have short eye relief; maybe that's what's affecting the view for you?
