7x28 M24 Fujinon Binocular Military recticle

There are several manufacturers of these M24 binos with recticles. How easy is it to remove or adjust the left barrel ranging recticle? Or is it etched into one of the lens elements? I was looking at a friends pair and did not see any way to remove the recticle. They seemed like a decent bino except for the crosshair in the left eye.

I removed both the laser filters and the reticle from my M24 about a month ago. As I recall in order to remove reticle you pull off the rubber cover on left ocular, loosen some screws to remove the ocular exposing the reticle inside and then pull back the rubber on the housing in order to loosen the reticle retaining screws. This really isn't very difficult. However, removing the reticle changes the focal length in the left barrel and the spacing of objective lens will have to be adjusted to achieve correct focal length which is a little tricky.
