Handled a Leitz Trinovid BA as above once and thought it was incredible....WHY do the big boys no longer consider this combo.....yes there are superb 7 x 42s out there for the dawn/dusk patrol but guess the market is covered, shame.
Well, I guess I'll mention it one more time............ do yourself a favor and try a Swift Eaglet 7x36. If this binocular were presented to a group of users with no sort of identification and asked to compete on a level field free of "bragging rights", manufacturer prejudice, pro or con, eliminated, this would hang FAR further into the depth of the competition than anyone knowing its make, model and price would ever suspect. What you want (or nearly so) may be hiding in plain sight.
On another note, the reason that there is practically nothing other than this, other than the Vortex Fury 6.5x32, probably speaks volumes. Swarovski made their compact SLC in 7x30 for a while. I will bet that if they sold enough of them, they'd still be available.
On the other hand, if some enterprising soul would start some sort of effrort and assemble enough FIRM orders from people who are SERIOUS about the concept, maybe that might convince somebody to do a run of 7x 30ish. They all have the basic platform and design.
