Looking at spending about £200 on a pressie for my girlfriend.
Currently i use a 20-60 cheap scope and a Nikon D70 with 200-500mm Tamron lens, but i need a pair of decent, but cheap bins for walking round the woods - the scope is fine, but only really useful in hides etc, not the woods.
Looking at models from Bushnell or Nikon - any recomendations? I'll probably but from Warehouse Express.
Nikon Sporter 10x36 (£115)
Bushnell Legend Porro 12x50 (£199)
Bushnell Natureview Roof Prisms 10x42 (£169)
Bushnell Trophy 10x42 (£179) - plus free pair of Trophy 8x25 (which which be ok for my lad)
Bushnell H2O Waterproof Roof Prism 10x42 (£99)
OR ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS????
Opticron Countryman BGA-T 10x50 (£199)
200 quid is not "cheap".
12x50 is too much magnification for walking around birding.
stay away from roof prism binos that cost less than 200 if you want optical quality more than anything else.
i would go Opticron High Resolution 10x42.
but it's your choice.

You might want to try the Nikon 8x30 EII. I see they are 289 pounds at warehouse express, should be able to pick them up for the same price in dollars in US, I think they are $299 which means they're about 150 pounds at the moment, plus shipping and import duty of course. Very good bins excellent field of view 461 ft at 1000 yds much better than others. Also very well reviewed on BVD (http://betterviewdesired.com/501/index.html) and Alula (http://www.alula.fi/GB/index.htm) as nearly being equal to the Nikon SE 8x32 which is twice that price, they also happen to be lighter and with greater field of view.
I'd highly recommend them
