That is indeed a good deal, at least on the surface. I would suggest to anyone taking advantage of this offer that they call first and learn just what is meant by "refurbished." You also should confirm what (if any) changes, modifications, and/or exclusions to the warranty are being applied. (Often refurbished products -even from high end companies- come with very restricted or even no warranty at all.) I'm not saying this is the case here but, it would be worth checking. The Eagle Optics website indicates that the Lifetime Warranty is included but, it looks like the information was simply copied over from the regular Elite page so, do yourself a favor and at least take the time to ask the questions.
"Better safe than sorry."
I just got off the phone with Bushnell's customer service. The nice lady there indicated that these refurbished binoculars will enjoy a one year warranty.
So the question then is; is it worth essentially giving up the warranty to save roughly $450 off the retail purchase price? If there ever was a problem with the binocular, that savings would cover at least one (if not more) trips to the repair shop.
Hmm, temptation - temptation...
