Best Budget Binocs?

Good Evening Friends!
I'm hoping to buy a new pair of field glasses in the next few days, so I'd be glad of any advice. By 'Budget' I mean below £300.
I like the look of the Steiner Skyhawk 10 x 42, the Nikon Monarch 10 x 42 and the Hawke Frontier ED 10 x 43.
I'm attracted to the higher power because I always seem to be looking at distant birds - shy kingfishers & raptors such as Marsh Harriers circling high.
The Hawke ED's have some good reviews on optic quality but they look a bit plasticky. The Steiners look tough but I don't really know how good the optics are. I've also been looking at Eschenbach Trophy glasses.

Out of the three you mentioned and considering the price range I would most certainly be inclined to choose the Hawke Frontier EDs.

Cheers Frank!
Positive reasons for the Hawke ED's?
Negatives for the Steiner et al?
And would the 10x power be O.K. do you think, in the Frontiers, I've only read reviews of the 8x
Best Wishes
