Here is a few pairs I'm interested in listed from low to high in price.

Nikon Action EX 7x35
Leupold Yosemite 6x30
PENTAX PCF WP II 8x40

I wouldn't go as low as 6X unless you have some very good reasons (perhaps you sit in a hide waiting for birds to come to you).

My first ever porros, as a kid, were 6X and I was put off for years - I felt that they weren't much better than the naked eye (my sight was good then, too).

I'm not qualified to advise on actual examples but I'm sure others will help... don't forget Opticron as a manufacturer and careful second-hand purchase could save you some cash, or mean you get something in the next quality bracket.

Good luck and have fun with whatever you buy!!

What about the Nikon Action VII 8x40 Binoculars at Jessops for £59. Or the Bushnell Natureviews for a bit more also at Jessops.
