What are the contenders?
Nikons? I have not checked porros lately...roof prisms are that price.
I have Minolta 10x25, under $100, they are OK, wife's binoculars. But they are not even water resistant. Most brands have these cheaper 10x25 porros.

Mike, don't think you can go wrong with the Pentax UCF WP 10x25. Not only are they water proof, they are probably one of the most rugged bins made. Anyone, that has ever looked through the Pentax UCF's, knows they have good optics. As far as I know, these cannot be beat for the price. These are reverse porros. Click this link:
