I am kinda tired of always never being able to see the bird up close and at the sametime i often find i see birds when i least expect it while sitting the car or running errands.
Is there a type of equipment like binoculars that is small but good to have around at all times? If so does anyone know where i can purchase it in california?
Also Would binculars be the best thing to get if i just want quick emergency viewing while out and about?
I keep a pair of inexpensive reverse Porro compact binoculars in the glove compartment of my car at all times. Similar to these: http://www.eagleoptics.com/binocula...prism-binocular
They can also be put in a coat pocket (but not a shirt pocket) or briefcase if you go mobile.
Decent optics for the price and good enough to ID a bird. Would not want to bird all day with them though.
