Better in low light: SLC neu 7x42 or EL 8.5x42?

I realize the SLC has slightly bigger exit pupil but the EL has slightly higher magnification.... what would be better in dusk/dawn conditions? would one be noticeably brighter than the other?

If your pupils still dilate with ease, the 7X42 SLC will show more in low light.

but the 8.5x mag will be around 5mm with greater detail right?
