I recently had my 10X32 EL's stolen and need to replace. Would like to spend around $900-1100. So far in my search I am between Zeiss Victory FL-T 10X32, Nikon Premier LX-L 10X32, and Leica Trinovid 10X32.
Couple of questions? The Zeiss's do not have the LotaTec coating . . . how big a deal is that? What is the Grey Market . . . does this have anything to do with the quality of the glass or just warranty issues and how do you know if you are buying something off the grey market?
I use them mostly while hunting, long distance (300-1000yds) glassing, but also enjoy birding and overall nature viewing.
thank you in advance for any information you can provide.

I have the Zeiss in that configuration and love them. They should be brighter than the other two. They have no noticeable CA, which is great to my eyes, and much better than my Nikon LX's. They are also very light. I have no experience with the Leicas. ER is different on each if you wear glasses. I have a special pair I wear with the Zeiss that fit particularly close and even work best with the eyecups pulled out a hair. I use them for distant hawk watch viewing and they work very well. The small EP takes a little getting used to, but I have no problem scanning now. They are also very easy to hold with one hand, as are the small Nikons. All should be available new in that price range now, as I guess you know. David
The Lotutec should not affect the view. As to grey market, that will affect the warrantee. I think the Zeiss need to be registered by some original owner, and be from a dealer. Nikon has a reputation for servicing any of their binoculars, and charge a minimal fee, I think it was $20. I don't know about Leica, but I think they too require USA warrantee proof. All are available in that price range without going the grey market route.
