Binoculars & forest

Hello
I'd like to get some advices about using binoculars in forest.
What is recommanded ? Leica, Zeiss, Swaro ? Is 8x32 mm enough (I like this size for the compactness and weight) ?
Thanks

the brighter the better
waterproof
well constructed

8 x 32 fine
7 x 42 let more light in and can be used later in the day

most respected brands should be ok

I use both the above (one Zeiss and one Nikon). My Zeiss have been tropical forests for long periods and have never let me down once. Despite the heat the rubber has hardly lifted. My Nikon 8 x 32 were fine but they don't look like they will wear well long term. Leica were notorious for the rubber lifting and bubbling after a time in the forest.
