Hi everybody, I´d like to create a new post, but I don´t understand very good this web, so I hope I did it ok. Now I´m looking for a good binoculars 8x56 for watching nature at the end of the day and morning, poor light. I´ve seen zeiss victory and leica, but it is8x50,
what can you recommend me?
thank!!!!!!!!!
I can only be of a little help with this question. I have only owned one 8x56 binocular, the Meopta Meostar 8x56. Notably lower priced than the Zeiss and Leica models you referenced and possibly on clearance right now because of the introduction of the Meostar HDs (haven't heard if they are continuing to introduce the ED glass in the full lineup or not).
I would certainly recommend them. The image is bright and sharp with very good edge performance. The only optical downside was that the field of view was narrower than both the 8x42 and 8x32 configurations of the same model. Of course they are also physically large and heavy binoculars but then you probably are already aware of that issue since you are searching for a 56 mm objective model.
From Henry's comments I would think that the 8x56 Zeiss FL is probably the 8x56 binocular to own if price is not an issue.
For low light a higher magnification would be better (higher twilight value); maybe 10x50's are the best, since most peoples pupils won't dilate much further.
If you don't want to pay a ship load of gold for alphas, a good quality porro (nikon, opticron, celestron etc.) may be the best.
