Bins for Christmas

I'm thinking of buying the other half some Opticron Imagic BGA 8x32 (old style, £180 from WE) for Christmas.

Requirements are lightweight, good for spectacles, good fov, good close focus, extremes of viewing conditions unlikely....

Any opinions on the quality of the Opticrons, or are there any others to consider (can't afford to spend any more money though)?

Thanks.

I'd give serious consideration to the Nikon 8x36 Sporter (back in stock at WE for £99). They're quite light, excellent if you wear glasses, with good fov and close focus. They're also well sealed and have good water resistance (although not truly waterproof). A real bargain I think.
