Bins Recomends Please for bird fair

Hi All sorry to be so forward but....
Im of to the bird fair for the first time and im going on the Sunday with 3 of my five kids and my goodlady.
I would like to pic up a reasonable pair of bins.
Im looking at if possible 8X40 or 40+.
Armoured and waterproof if possible.
Reasonable pricing as 5 kids does not leave much money.
Any models that seam to be getting reduced perhaps now newer models out and stock of old models are getting reduced.
all advice greatly appreciated.
Thank you all for your time and all the best,
james

My brother just picked up a set of Nikon Monarch 8x42's. They seem like a great value binocular as they were purchased at less then 200 U.S. dollars. They have a great image and are very comfortable to use . I am sure there will be many others chiming in with better advice. Hope this helps- have a great time at the fair with your family.

you would probably get more for your money if you get a pair of porroprisms.
the most popular brands in the uk would be nikon..opticron..bushnell.

£150 pounds is the main selling point for these models,if you prefer the smaller roof prism designs then take a look at minox 8x42 br at around £250.
opticron veranos are also very nice priced at around £280.

the nikon monarchs seem to have had a recent price increase in the uk,you would do well to find a pair under £300 at the fair or in the shops.

best of luck which ever you choose

matt
