Hello people,
I am here to gather info to base my decision on buying a binoculars. I am not interested in birding and am not going to use this information for such. I came to this forum because I recon you ppl have great knowledge in binoculars.
I would like to know your personal opinions, as well as facts, regarding your preferences in these brands:
-Nikon
-Oberwerk
-Bushnell
-Barska
(they are in order, brand I am most interested in first)
Feel free to comment on some other brand of your choice too..
Just for additional information, I am most likely going to buy something similar to a 16x50, but as most of these brands offer very similar models with these specs, I want an opinion to choose from which brand to buy from.

Not enough there for you to get a lot of help. Nikon makes the gamut from very cheap to top end expensive. There is a wide range in Bushnell as well. So you need to come up with a use criteria of something than not used for birding. What do you expect from them and what are you willing to spend.
Another thing, a good birding binocular is a good binocular period. It can be used for just about anything you need. Not just any old off the shelf inexpensive binocular will be good for birding or maybe anything else. So what we can recommend depends on what you need.
