It's common knowledge that some people see more chromatic abberation than others. What I've also started to notice is that some days I see a lot more CA even though I'm using the same binoculars. This seems to happen when I've had a visually 'heavy' week (lots of reading, computer screens etc.). When I'm seeing more CA, no amount of careful eye-positioning and adjustment of IPD will clear it. I wonder if the brain is normally effective at filtering out CA from the image until you reach a point of fatigue at which the visual processing just can't keep up the task. If individuals can see different amounts of CA on different days what does this mean for binocular tests?
Has anyone else experienced this variable sensitivity to CA?
