The Alaskan Guide look OK, but why go for a store brand? Nikon, Bushnell, Pentax etc give you a 25 year warranty or more.
I looked at 10x28 Alaskan Guide and the optics were good. They do not make a 8x25, so I lost interest. The view was too narrow for me. I like 10x in full size, but not very often in compacts.
So, yes, the brand is probably as good as other $300-400 roof prisms.
