I own a 10x42 Swaro EL binocular since 2004. I got it at the BirdFair. this was the only bino I used since then both on my local patches and abrod during me birdwatching trips to several parts of the world but mainly in the tropics.
In the first year of usage the bino worked well. I love its ergonomy, brilliant image quality and the weight. Second half of last year the condition of the bino started to decrease. This means e.g. that the rubber armour was no longer as tight as it was when I bought it. There is a kind of bubble under the armour. This is unacceptable from this big brand.
The second dissappointing thing the focus ring cover. The rubber cover on the focus ring exfoliated. Now I cannot fix it properly which means that focusing is no longer smooth.
The biggest problem is that those syndrome is not unique. I contacted with other users and there were even worse opinion of this product.
I now consider to buy a new bino, but which brand/model I should trust.

have you contacted swarovski for a repair surely its still under guarantee
