What, other than aperture and focal length decides the depth of field in binoculars?
vop,
This subject has come up many times. The answer, believe it or not, is that nothing decides the depth of field in binoculars except magnification; not aperture, not focal length nor anything else. But, some other things, like differences in focusing speed or field curvature can create a very convincing subjective impression of more or less DOF in different binoculars of the same magnification.

Depth of field also changes with the distance observed, usually decreasing in depth as the distance decreases.
