Cameras and Lenses

Fortescue

Hi all, I have recently inherited a pair of "Trozan" No G 22526 8 x 30 Field 7 degrees 30 minutes, coated binoculars and I would like to find out a bit of history for this brand if possible? They are at least 40 years old, were purchased in Australia and look quite similar to Zeiss binoculars of similar period.

I haven't been able to find any info on the web but thought someone on this forum might know something.

Many thanks!

Hello welcome to Birdforum! Sounds like a "knockoff" of the Zeiss model. Simon might of heard of these.

Thanks steve, I have another pair of "Harmony" 16 x 50 binoculars that I know were bought in 1973 (in Japan) and these have a very similar case, focus wheel etc... so it looks like the Trozan 8 x 30's may also have been made in Japan about that time.

Regards, Adam
