I noted an advert for insuring 'gadgets' today. Gadgets such as mobiles, i-pods, Camera's etc...

Is this new 'trend' on the market that we pay for our 'small techy' products away from our house insurance? Pay them on their own with a separate policy?
How does this 'system' work?
