of course with wide angle the edges are distorted, but i will mainly use them for warblers and sparrows. they were brighter and had adequate resolution in good light than my 10x50s from bushnell. i will test them out tommorrow. they will be standby until i save up for some better ones. they will probably be adequate until then. the eyecups folded down nicely! $20.00 at Tuesday Morning.
also i dont think they are protected from fogging...how can i prevent this?
will it be a big issue for winter? thanks
where from?
Well, for 20 bucks, the fogging may be an occasional nuisance. If you say keep them in the car, they will be the same temperature as the outside.
There are a few useable 8x40 porros, even the current Simmons isn't bad. Just stick with 8x on these. The discount stores tend to go with 10x only. Sometimes 7x.
But why not go with the 8x Actions, or even 7x? They are not that much more money. The 10x Actions I never liked, too bulky for one.
