Am wondering.
Do you nearly always have a pair of binoculars along with you? I mean, when not home, not in car, and not out intentionally "birding"? If so, what pair?
I kind of rotate between these for that purpose:
Zeiss 8x30 BGAT*P dialyt
Bauch & Lomb 7x26 Audubon Customs
Pentax 8.5x21 Papillio
I tend to be a bit obsessive about carrying bins (and a camera) with me at all times. I currently take a pair of Swaro CL 8x30 out with me as they are not much larger than compacts but are much nicer to use. The only problem for me is that I only have them on a short term trial so when that's over I'll be back to carrying a pair of Leica compacts instead.
Yes, I always have bino's with me and feel like I am missing something if I don't. I carry my Viper 6x32 if weight is not an issue, but mostly carry my Zeiss Victory 8x20 because of the compactness.
I have a fury 6.5x32 at work, a 6x30 yosemite at the feeders at home and a vixen 8x25 is with me in the van everyday.
Funny thing is the kids are carrying their binoculars everywhere too. We look funny at ball games as we each have our own binoculars. My wife thinks I am nuts.
