Its official. Both RSPB and Zen-Ray are made by the same manufacturer.
I had written to the RSPB asking if it was the case. This is RSPB's response .
"I have now spoken with Viking, who are the company from whom we source RSPB branded optics.
The RSPB HD scope and the Zen-ray scope are made in the same factory and share the same design. The optical design is different however, and Viking have opted for a much higher specification in terms of the coatings and the quality of the glass.
I suppose the best thing you can do to be sure is to find someone that sells the Zen-ray and compare them. I expect that you would find the HD to be far superior.
I hope this helps. If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know.
Thank you for your support."
Has any one compared the two?
Thanks,
Jaysan
Jay:
You should post this over on the spotting scope sub-forum. You will have better
results that way.
