Has anybody tried those new Eye Shields and what did you think of them. They have them at Sportsmans Warehouse. Here is a link to some You Tube videos on them. I am cautious of any of those things on TV that all sell for $19.99!

They come with the new Nikon EDG but the wings are shorter than on the ones shown here and the base is longer. They are an option that comes with the EDG that you can use and remove at will but they can only be used with the eyecup in the down position. I think Nikon calls them "horned eye cups." I believe they also come with the Swarovski EL's. They work pretty good when the light is low behind you but sometimes a little light will sneak in if they aren't tight against your temples. If the light is behind you but at an angle you can also block it off by turning the bill of your baseball hat over in that direction; if you are wearing one.

Winged eyecups are often useful and I use them on both a Swaro. EL and SLC, they are
well designed and they even have the ocular cover that fits. They really help with backlighted
stray light situations. I find that I use mine but do switch back to the regular ones. With the Swaros. they replace the screwon eyecups, and so they are only used in one position, so that is for users without eyeglasses.
The Nikon EDG does have a horned eyecup which is slipped over the twistup, but I have tried them, and they do not fit my face, so I do not use them, Nikon needs to do better here.
The ones Dennis mentions are interesting, I too would be interested in comments.
