Anyone done a side by side comparison of these two, or have any idea of which of the two would be a likely victor?
Been happy with Opticron stuff before as regards to after sales care etc, so far only had a limited inspection of the Imagic SE and was pretty pleased with it...but would the Hawke be a significient improvement with those ED lenses?
Only interested in whats easily accessable in the UK so please no discussions on Promasters, Zen Ray, Stokes/vortex etc
Matt
Is it worth an email to a stockist who has both eg Sherwoods for their opinion?

Hawke has a 30 day return policy for a refund (check the web site ... this may be different in the UK).
And if you can find an Opticron Imagic SE 8x42 with a similar policy you could do the comparison yourself.
A technique commonly used by quite a few of us for buying online especially if you can't find someone else who's already done the comparison. Even when someone else has compared the optics getting a feel for the ergonomics of the bin is often a personal opinion too.
