Help selecting frst set of binoculars

Hi. I am in the market for a set of 10x42 binoculars. I have had a look at a few binoculars and i quite like the bushnell legend ultra hd and the olympus magellan EXWPi, but have not been able to view them side by side. It is also hard in the brightly lit shops to get an idea of low light performance. I live in Australia and have not got acces to binos like the zen ray & the theron which seem to be regarded highly in this price range. I will probably purchase mail order due to the high costs over here (bushnell $500-$600), so would be willing to look at other options. My budget is approx $400 usd. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
cheers
Gary

Don't forget to try Nikon Monarchs. I think my 8x42s cost about $300 online. They seem fairly popular in Australia.

Also check out the Nikon Action series. They offer a wide field and good viewing at a reasonable price.
