Is going from 8X32 to ultravid 8X20 an upgrade?

A quick question for anyone:

I am considering upgrading from my Eagle Optics Platinum 8X32 to a Leica Ultravid compact 8X20. I was wondering if anyone out there has a comparison between the two, or between the Ultravid and any other similar $250-$300 roofs. I know I will give up some field of view and some close focus, but I am really hoping image quality (brightness, contrast) is about the same, if not better. (BTW I am well versed in all the arguments against compacts…)

Any comments are welcome....

The 32mm format is pretty good, all price ranges and models. It just takes some time to sort through all that are on offer.

If you are used to the wide field by now, I would stick to something similar.

Most people get compacts because "I needed something smaller, too."

I have the 8x32 EO as well. I see all its plus sides and faults by now. It is in fact quite sharp in the center. I personally do not have much more need of sharpness at 8x, 10x I do.
