Are we already seeing the same phenomenon in binoculars? Two years ago, I got the 2009 ZRS for $180. Now an identical Wipiti HQ is selling for $249. Although not exactly made in China, the newer Vortex Razor is now $1100 vs $800 of last year's model. Do we expect the price from Vortex, Bushnell, Zen-Ray to go up too?
A significant factor you neglected to mention is the decreasing value of the dollar. Frankly the more the Fed prints the less each is worth. And this downhill trend has been speeding up in the past two years or so.
So yes, our toys will continue to cost more as our currency devalues.
