No, this isn't a "what binocular can I get my child" thread.

My oldest son and I were sitting out on the back porch last night and I was looking for hummingbirds. When I looked up from the scope I noticed the following pic....
....who says kids can only use Leupold Yosemites?

Following in Dad's footsteps.
Anyone else have a young person that is fascinated with binoculars or just loves using them?

Nice one, Frank! Yes, my son (aged 6) is fascinated by optics. Heīs not that interested in nature, unless itīs something really mind-blowing like a Snowy Owl I took him to see recently....he was looking at it through my ELīs when it took off, and he tracked it for a quarter-kilometre, gasping with awe. Tonight I showed him Jupiter and some of its moons through my Nikon ED82A, and he announced that heīs going to be an astronomer when he grows up. One of those "Dadīs-chest-fills-with-pride" moments. (Non-parent BF members, you may stop barfing now....

Break him in right early and he'll not be complaining about 30oz bin later in life.
Good technique BTW.
