Leaving binoculars in truck

I'd like to find a decent inexpensive pair of binoculars to keep in the console of my truck. I've read on some forums where that is not good for the binoc in the summer time. I'm not talking about leaving them on the dash in Arizona, just buried in the console here in Michigan. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I've been keeping inexpensive Vortex Diamondbacks in my car for a couple of years now with no adverse results. Usually in the glove compartment or console but some times under a shirt on the floor! Just keep them out of sight and out of the sun. 7 x 36's this year and 9 x 36's much of last year and 8 x 42's prior to that. The 8's are the best. Diamondbacks are really tough binoculars and have a great warranty.

I keep a pair of Bushnell's in the car...a $100 pair....probably 15+ years old. I use them all the time...
