Good on him, more pop/rock stars should out themselves as birders. Anyone ever seen Garvey out and about?

I'm not sure where to post this but I heard on the radio today a comment from Guy Garvey, vocalist with the band 'Elbow', who won this year's Mercury Music Prize. When asked what he would be doing with the £20,000 cheque, he replied that there was a pair of second hand binoculars which he had seen for £1000. He would like to get them as he is a dedicated birdwatcher.
I was a bit surprised and rather pleased to hear that somebody vaguely cool was prepared to declare himself a birdwatcher. Nice one.
