Hi,
I went to my local optics shop yesterday and asked what was new in the binocular world.
Minox have a new line- the BF BRs.
I had a brief look through some 8x42s and was very pleasantly surprised. They seem excellent for the price (cheapest I've found is £150).
Very bright on an overcast day like yesterday and very sharp in the centre. A fairly large sweetspot. They fell off quite noticeably at the edges though.
They felt much heavier in the hand than I expected for a small, low price bin.
They're made in Germany too.
The guy I spoke to said that he and his colleagues think that they are made up from parts of other binoculars so that could be why they are good for the price. They have been made from leftover bits so there's lower outlay to make them.
If that's true, I think the leftovers fit well together ad have been well put together.

If your looking for a budget bin, definitely give these some consideration.
I am considering them for a Christmas present.
Best wishes
Martin
