Anyone compared these with other roofs in the same price range?
I know similar comparisons have been done over and over but £300 definately seems to be a selling point in the uk,just wondering if there is an out and out winner?
Haven't actually seen the minox or nikons before,I'm only familiar with the opticron verano 8x42 and swift 8.5x44.The new model swift doesn't really appeal to me personally-due to the slow'ish focus and location of the dioptic setting.
Due to my own bins slowly becoming degraded with use the following bins
(and any others?) are up for consideration.I'm specifically interested in 8x42-longer eye relief,depth of focus,marginal improved light gathering.
(1), Minox BL 8x42
(2), Nikon Monarch 8x42
(3), Opticron Verano 8x42
(4), Swift Ultralite 8x42

I have not done the comparison myself...however, I was looking to pick up another 8x42 Monarch and spoke with someone that carries both of the models in question. He rated the Minox as slightly better in both its construction and the perceived sharpness of the image. In all other regards they are reportedly equal.
I, too, would be interested to hear anyone else that has compared these two models.
Have not checked the specs but I predict the Monarch will be the lightest in weight. In general Monarchs of 36, and 42mm weigh about the same. My 36mm Sporters weigh more.
