monocular recommendation

Could anyone recommend a "best bang for the buck" monocular? I would like something to take to the beach to view the ocean from the 8th floor condo. Lots of fishing boats offshore and the seals and the fishes are great to watch. Thinking of something from 15 to 30 power if that is possible or maybe even a zoom. Don't want to pay the national debt but poor quality is useless too. What say you?

With that power you will need a monopod (at least) and more likely a tripod. Suggest that you look for an inexpensive spotting scope. Maybe like this one?

There are better ones too that will cost progressively more.

Bob's is the most perfectly on-target recommendation I have ever seen! I am in awe of such web surfing ability.

For a true hand held monocular, I would get the top Zen Ray, if it was me, just based on reviews here, both of the monocular and also of binoculars with the same optics. But it's only 10x at most. That would show a lot though, and be handy out on walks.
