The only repellent that works on me, somewhat, is Deet.
I just found out that it's bad for rubber. My Zen Ray bins are all sticky now.
One must put up with mosquitoes and risk West Nile Virus while glassing, I guess.
Does anyone have a solution? I have tried all the sprays and lotions and they do not work at all. Only Deet works but not all the time.
Please excuse the typo in thread title.
I use Deet but make very sure I clean my hands before touching anything plastic or rubber. Procedure: remove all cameras, bins, lenses and put well away. Spray from head to toe. Clean hands with "Wet Wipes".
That's not good! Hadn't thought of the effect on bins, I'd been wondering about repellents too after going for a very early walk around my patch and getting covered with dozens of huge mosquitoes that bit me to pieces - I had loads biting my legs through my trousers and some sitting on the undersides of my hands biting me where I couldn't see them.
I try to like all wildlife but those are horrible creatures, I can't stand them.
