Mutant binos...EIIŽs?

I saw a reference on some post or other to people changing the eyepieces on binos. This intrigues me (in a really unhealthy way...). My question is, is it really possible? Presumably not with nitrogen-purged or waterproof bins, but with "old-fashioned" porros? And what IŽd really like to know is...has anyone ever switched the eyepieces between Nikon EII 8x30 and EII 10x35? Just curious...IŽd love to know what kind of Nikon FrankensteinŽs Monster would result. (No, IŽm not about to reach for a screwdriver and my binos.....I think....."Igor, Behave!!! And Fetch me my Binoculars!!!")

Go ahead with the Irish ingenuity and be sure to post the results Inquiring minds wait in great anticipation for the results. I am however cognizant of the admonition seen on certain TV shows"...do not try this by yourself".

I think you must be remembering Henry Link switching eyepieces between the 7x and 10x Nikon E porros (if I remember right). I don't think there would be any point to doing that with the 8x and 10x EII--don't they have the same ocular?
