Hello,
I am new to this forum but not new to birdwatching (or using binoculars). Presently I am in the process of determining which pair of mid-priced bins will suit my needs. I will be using them for viewing waterfowl at long and mid-range distances, at dusk and dawn, and in ALL weather conditions (i.e. they must be waterproof/fogproof). I will be doing quite a bit of hiking as well, so full-sized bins are not an option. I am leaning towards the Bushnell Legend 8 X 32. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Peter
Peter,
Welcome aboard BF. The Legends are generally considered a very nice mid-range binocular. My thought is that the 10x42 is probably better suited to long and mid-range viewing, particularly at dusk and dawn. What are your investment limits? An x32 is not too robust in that respect.

I'd also opt for a 10x42 roof for general use (as you specified), 32mm isn't going to be anywhere near a 42mm objective for dusk or low light, and 8x always leaves me feeling too far away.
