Nikon Monarch III 10x42 vs Vortex Fury 10x42

Hi, after a bit of research I came to the conclusion that one of these two optics would be good for me.

Which one do you think is best? Considering that I have found them for the same price.

I'm also curious to know if the new 2010 Dielectric coted Nikons really add something to the old ones.

I've had the chance just to look trough the old Nikon Monarchs and have found them really excellent.

Thank you in advance..

I can't give you advice on which of the 2 binoculars to choose. You should try them both out, if possible under conditions which you will use them.

I can tell you that the dielectric coated Nikon EDG is brighter than it's equivalent Nikon Premier LX L which does not have dielectric coated prisms. This is quite evident in late twilight conditions.

Ok! Thank you.

My only concern on the Nikons is the relatively small view angle that is 5.5° compared to the 6,4° of the Vortex.

Could this have anything to do with the fact that the Nikon Monarchs way only 620g vs 740g of the Fury 10x42? Maybe the wider angle lenses way a bit more?
