Cameras and Lenses

Not birding! but cool binocular :)

Hi all :)
Today I have received as a gift from the friend Pentax UCF XII 10x25 bino.
I asked him if he will find, to bring something small and strong from Moskow.
This bino made in Chine under lisenze Japan :)
Cost in Moscow - 75$.

Very conveniently lays in hands and it is pleasant to the touch. Quality of materials and manufacturing - is very good.
Coating of objective lenz - fun green color :)
Weight - 300 gramms. Visible FOV - 5 degrees - is very small for birdings.
Geometry brightness - 6.25, But it is much brighter, than my Tasco 8x21 for 9$ :))
Focused wheel make 3 full revolution from 1.9m to Infinity.
The thong for carrying can be very quickly fastened and is removed.
Sliding okular eclipses can be in 3 positon - for glasses-mans.
I had no opportunity to look much bins, therefore I cannot objectively estimate quality of optics.
But in comparison with Tasco 8x21 - is day and night :)
The image equal and precise on all field. Nothing aberration. No distortion.
Brightness - only for day. Mine Yukon 16x50 brighter, but It is three times big and more hardly. Yukon Has small, but appreciable illegibilities on the edge of a field, this Pentax - has no.
As a whole creates impression very strong and reliable bins.
If I chose from series UCF XII, I would choose 8x25 for the greater field and brightness.
I recommend it a series, as the city field-glass with increased reliability and high quality of the image.
(sorry for mine english - i use a translator)

Hi!

I looked up that model on the Web. It looks like a nice binocular. I hope you enjoy using it!
It has aspherical eyepiece lenses, which should be good (gives more brightness, I think). Also close focus seems quite good at 1,9m.
Yes, the field of view could be better, but I'm sure you can use it also for some birding.

I read, that lenses there are very good, despite of the low price. This bins can be used to consider inactive objects, such as woodpeckers.
