Which bin is better of course opticwise? I have Pentax and its optics are very good but I am attracted to Bushnell's wide field if view.
Thanks.
I have only looked at 9x28 and 10x25 Pentax. My guess is the Excursion. I have an old model, it was discounted after it sat on the shelf a while, and the eye cups are sturdy enough, but a plastic skin on them keeps coming off. I glue it back to the metal. No idea if they improved that or not.
I have a favorable view of Pentax models past 32mm, and especially 8x32. At 28mm, nothing exciting.
But tough decision. I think I would go for the Pentax if it was similar in my hand. It certainly is more compact if that is an issue. Coat pocket size.
I have the Pentax 8 x 28. A nice pair of bins especially given the price. Look at the FOV specs or try them side by side with others. Brightness, image, eyecups, handling, adjustment control are all good but the field of view is a major negative. I have 3 other bins and these are used the least.
