Hi all
I will be moving in a few weeks to spend a couple of years in Massachusetts. I currently have specialist, all risks, insurance for my gear in the UK and wondered what people recommend in the USA.
Will a 'normal' insurance broker be able to provide this sort of cover, or should I seek a specific company?
Cheers
Mark.
you may not even be checking this thread for updates anymore, but...
It might be covered under your normal renter's/homeowner's insurance policy. If it exceeds the maximum amount for an item, you should be able to purchase a rider to cover the additional equipment.
Good luck, and welcome to Mass.

As Merg indicated, your best bet is to get your equipment insured through the company that handles your homeowner's insurance. The extent of the coverage provided by the homeowners policy itself varies by company and policy, so you should ask questions about this. If you find that the coverage is too limited, you can ask for an additional special "personal articles" policy that will cover your gear for all risks anywhere.
