How often do you think companies change coatings or optics in the same model over time.
WHat companies do you know that actually do it?
I believe Swarovski is known for changing coating, focus etc without really telling the public.
I am also willing to believe models can get better over time. Meaning an or SLC bought in 2009 might be slight better, brighter, and/or different color scheme than one bought in 2002 or 2006, etc... what say yall?
Hasnt Zeiss made unpublished changes to the FL line 3-4 times since its release??

I think a lot of companies "tweak" their optical systems over time without publicizing or marketing the changes. I have been told by someone at Swarovski that they certainly do this and that's it's typical within the industry. For the most part, I would expect these changes to be minor and largely undetectable by the average user. The big changes like the hydro-phobic lens coatings do get marketed and often times the products get new sku numbers, etc...
