I had already ordered a pair of Vortex Viper 8x42s, but have 1 day to change my mind and upgrade to the Razors instead.
Anyone here compared both of them and can offer their thoughts on how these two match up when it comes to image quality?
Also, the Razors are much heavier (29oz vs 23oz) - now, I am going to be using these with a harness most likely, but I was wondering what it is like to constantly hold these binos up and peer at birds in trees, etc.
TIA,
Vandit
I have 28oz roofs and they are fine for viewing, I like the weight there. Carrying all day around on your neck is where the problem comes. My strap is so long I can switch to over the shoulder when needed.
Thanks for that, Tero. I plan to use these binos with a harness almost exclusively, so neck strain shouldnt be an issue.
Now on to the quality issue. Based on some comments I've read on Opticstalk, it appears that the focus of the Razors is a little "slower" compared to that of the Stokes DLs. I wonder how that affects birding... is it slow enough to be a hindrance or a non-issue?
