What is meant by "normal resolution" as opposed to "boosted resolution?"
Normal resolution is what you get when you view with the binoculars normally with your eyes, at the nominal magnification of the binocular. Boosted resolution is viewing through a "booster", an additional magnification provided by a monocular, a second binocular etc. placed behind the binocular's eyepiece so that the resultant magnification is the product of the magnifications of the binocular and the booster. For example, viewing the image of a 10x binocular with a 5x monocular used as a booster, you get magnification of 50x. The utility of using a booster is reducing or removing the effect of the testers' eyesight acuity from the equation.
