Reverse porros vs. 8x32 roofs

These models compete in the same area, even for weight and size.

I have a pair of Eagle Optics 8x32s that beat my best reverse porros for brightness, discontinued Minolta II 8x25, but some of these are actually pretty good.

Those that have reverse porros, try this test, see what your best reverse porro can do in sunset conditions for instance.

I will test my Nikons, 9x25, next. I no longer have other Nikon reverse porros.

Meade Safari Pro 8x25 vs EO 8x32. EO definitely a bit brighter but both have very good sharpness. The 8x25 is bulkier than the roof so rather pointless except as a cheap beater set. Both bins are higher res than some of my older, larger objective bins so I really appreciate both!

Interesting suggestion Tero. I have often wondered how an 8x25 reverse porro would compare to an 8x30 roof of equal quality level. Something along the lines of the Nikon 8x25 Prostaff against the 8x36 Monarch maybe? Or possibly the 8x26 Legend reverse porro against the 8x32 Legend roof.
