The June 2006 issue of "Sky and Telescope" magazine (on some newstands now) has one of the best explanations of how Roof Prisms work and the effect of phase coating them that I have seen. It is on page 96 in the "Hobby Q&A" section. It is written by Senior Editor Roger W. Sinnott and discusses them in 5 concise and informative paragraphs. It explains how you can use 2 polarizing filters in front of the Objective Lens and behind the Oculars to see the effect of lack of Phase Coating on the exit pupil of inexpensive Roof Prisms.
Highly recommended to all Binocular fanatics.

Any idea where I could pick one of the mags up Bob? I have heard of it before but never seen it on any newstand.
Thanks.

I got mine in the local Barnes and Noble in the Wyoming Valley Mall but any big bookstore located in a large Mall should carry it in their Magazine Racks. It's a popular magazine in it's field. Border's Bookstores should have it also. There should be a store in the Lehigh Valley Mall that has it.
Good Luck,
Bob
