I have a slight problem with my binoculars yesterday was out for a walk then suddenlly got cought in heavy rain it was pretty bad (I lost my rain caps for my binoculars back home somewhere) and when I got back home I noticed the left eyepiece was cloudy and couldn't see properly though the right eyepice is clear and ok. It's like water has somehow managed to get inside the bins or something. Does anyone know if it can be fixed? if so I might take them to a RSPB Binoculars & Telescope Shop back home. I feel pretty lost without them and they have been in rain before but never had this problem before had them for 12 to 13 years and had never had problems before.
This happened to me a couple of years ago. Water has got caught in side the eyepiece. It happens with non-waterproof binoculars. Usually if you leave them for a couple of days to dry, they will be ok but if not, you will have to take them in for repair.
Leave them to dry well away from a radiator or something else very hot.
Leave then in the airing cupboard, or in a sealed box with Silica Gel crystals or even some salt!.
